The role: Head/Manager of Global Marketing Strategy

As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you’re on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product’s journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. The role enables you to shape the product development process, organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.

Lead role managing planning, performance management, marketing insights/analytics and strategic projects across Global Marketing. Opportunity to work in a high-growth team, enabling marketing to be an effective business partner to product and sales, fuel momentum for consumer acquisition and revenue growth and establish it as an industry leader among leaders. Work closely with the Global VP of Marketing and the marketing leadership, spanning both consumer and B2B products across 40+ markets. Requires strong problem solving skills, background in business strategy and exceptional communication/collaboration skills.


  • Lead role in strategic planning on annual and quarterly basis, becoming an expert on Consumer or B2B marketing strategy. 
  • Establish robust ROI metrics, identifying business insights from performance metrics that refine and re-focus marketing strategy and programs. 
  • Identify and lead key strategic initiatives that support the CMO’s agenda in areas that span new markets, media, branding, competitive intelligence, emerging products and maximizing ROI. 
  • Manage/mentor junior Associate PMMs on team to drive data collection and analysis supporting strategic initiatives. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA.
  • Strategy consulting. 
  • 2 years experience in online marketing, strategy consulting and/or media consulting.
  • 5 years at top-tier consulting firm with strong project management experience.
  • Background in operational strategy, such as change management, performance measurement, IT implementation and/or post-merger integration.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
